Aira Labs
Aira Labs is building a decentralised, crowdsourced air-quality network. I partnered directly with the founders to translate their vision into an investable brand identity and the foundational product design for their iOS app. From creating the critical media that secured their pre-seed funding to advising on their 2026 technical roadmap, I bridged the gap between their backend technology and a market-ready user experience.

Developed in a rapid one-week sprint, the brand identity had to balance where the startup was as well as position it for the future. We wanted to frame Aira beyond merely a utility, but as a lifestyle companion it is designed to become.

Rooted in a data-first mission, we aimed to create a brand voice that was alarmist without being sensationalist. The goal was to ground the identity in hard facts and data, balancing scientific rigour with an accessible, human aesthetic. Whilst communication around it could get technical, the logo was reduced to its purest geometry, inspired by the fluidity of nature and air.

The brand narrative was brought to life in a core mission video, produced for the Machine Economy Day in Dubai to drive the pre-seed raise and anchor the company's social launch.

Developing the MVP app meant taking complex environmental data and making it accessible for daily use. Drawing on my experience designing air-quality interfaces at Dyson, I established technical standards that supported a lean development cycle.

To move quickly, we bypassed traditional testing in favor of a community-led approach, refining the UI through direct feedback with early backers on Discord to ensure each iteration solved genuine user needs. We leveraged a dark aesthetic to naturally highlight the data and leveraged UI to synthesise intricate metrics into clear, immediate insights for users.
